Well, as fifth season episodes go, this one was pretty good, at least until they derailed into All Tell No Show land at the end. Although it's always kind of fun to watch Olivia discover feelings.
Counselor Troi Simone was a pretty cool character, even though "I'm getting a feeling" made me groan.
Loved Olivia rescuing her own damn self with a homemade airgun and using it to shoot her captor with the bullet that she was shot with and which was dug out of her brain by her father-in-law. And then digging said bullet out of the door where it landed after passing through the bad guy's brain. This family is so badass.
Preview thoughts: Walter on acid is ALWAYS a good thing! I guess since they aren't getting an episode 19 to go crazy with this year, they're making do with episode 8. My pet theory is still that they're going to go back in time and rewrite this future, possibly with help from Redverse (and I gotta say, the titles of some of the upcoming episodes definitely sound like they could bear this out!), but if "the future is an illusion," as the promo suggests, I won't cry. Anything that ends this story faster is fine by me.
