Fringe, you know, I don't even care what you do for the rest of the show's run. I'll love you forever for that scene with Peter and Olivia waking up at sunrise. Olivia running into naked!Walter (how many fanfics have gotten mileage out of that idea?) and handling it with aplomb, considering, and the simultaneous cell phone interruptions were icing on the cake. Oh, those crazy kids. They went through so much to get here. I'm so glad they finally got this moment.

The rest of the episode was good, too. I've come to really, really resent everyone in the altverse for taking time away from the characters I actually like (especially Olivia; between the focus on Fauxlivia, her brainwashing early in the season, and the Bell takeover of the past few episodes, I feel like we haven't seen her at all this season. Which sucks ass, because she's my favorite, and we've basically gotten her as her awesome self for, like, seven episodes total this season, and some of those were shared with the altverse). HOWEVER, I actually did unconditionally like Fauxlivia this time around; I was impressed that she went up against Walternate because she believed there had to be another way, even though it got her stuck in a padded cell. Crossing my fingers that she manages to break herself out. Although if it takes an episode or two to get around to that, I won't cry.

I'm also pleased to see some forward movement of the plot! I felt like the show was just spinning its wheels with the William Bell thing, and while Fauxlivia's pregnancy was plot-instrumental, see above about my animosity towards everyone in the altverse. Sam Weiss showed up again! And Nina! We got a Nina! And the machine turned on! And vortexes showed up in ourverse! I'm very intrigued by the machine's rejection of Peter (OR DID IT? Maybe it just magnetized him or otherwise gave him superpowers).

Heh, Nina's "I thought everything was going to be okay because you and Peter shacked up!" to Olivia....aaaaaawkward.

Walter in the chapel at the end was lovely. And portentious.

What the hell is Sam up to?

Are we ever going to return to Peter's killing of the shapeshifters, and Olivia's reaction to it? And what about Olivia's new lack of fear? What did that even mean, and what is it going to do to her?

Hmmm. About to watch on Hulu right now. Glad to know in advance this was good.

I thought it was interesting timing. The whole bit about Walter finally being willing to (possibly) lose his son - on Good Friday. Coincidence? I'm going to guess no... "Hey, if we do THREE reruns here and here and here, look what happens with the schedule!"

But yeah, good ep. I'm hoping whats-his-face (Lee?) gets to save Fauxlivia, 'cause I'm sappy like that. ;) And I want Taxi-Guy to show up again.

Awwwwwww, yes. Although there were giant flashing lights above their heads going, "ALERT ALERT IMMINENT TRAUMA." But the cute drowned them out.

I kinda love seeing the wide, wide range of Anna Torv, but yeah, let's hope next season brings a higher proportion of Ourlivia.

Are we ever going to return to Peter's killing of the shapeshifters, and Olivia's reaction to it?

Um, yeah, about that? Where did it go?

Then I started wishing they would all just die.

Awww, really? I enjoyed seeing Scarlie and Lincoln and Fauxlivia! Not as much as Walter and Peter and Olivia, but it had its own appeal. Even through the MONUMENTALLY STUPID pregnancy plot, which frankly went about as good as I've ever seen a stupid pregnancy plot go, but still. I hope the red universe is an ongoing thing, in reasonable doses.

Perhaps it will come back in S4?

It must, because we've at least got to find out what was on those stegosaurus-brain drives!

but then we started seeing SO MUCH of them, and so little of Olivia, that I ended up resenting them.

Yes, any departure from All Ourlivia, All The Time is something of a disappointment. The screentime balance was off, especially at first.

although Bell's possession was kind of annoying in itself.

Kind of annoying, yet if they're gonna take Olivia away for a few episodes, Possession By Leonard Nimoy is one of the best ways to do it!

And it did have some plot relevance, which was unexpected.

Every scene with the baby kinda made me break out in hives, but yes, I'm surprised they managed to connect it in a meaningful way. Although how exactly did they use it to turn the machine on? Sprinkle baby blood on it? That's... a bit pagan.

Or maybe they'll invent a reason to ship people back and forth between them regularly...

Admittedly, I may just want both universes to stick around so we can still have a Charlie...

Awwwwww.

Is that the closest you have to a Scarlie icon? Awwwww.
