...Well. That was a hot mess. And I say this as someone whose favorite episode is still "Brown Betty," so I like it when Fringe gets even weirder than usual.

I just...what was the point of all that? We got cartoons running around in Olivia's mind, and some cheap armchair psychoanalysis of her: she hides when she's scared (Really? 'Cause I got the impression from the rest of the series that she went out and kicked some ass when she got scared), she last felt safe before the Cortexiphan trials (which would be when she was two, and anyway it's not like she even remembered them until sometime in season one), and she's ready to "move forward" past these inner roadblocks that until this episode I was unaware existed. WTF?

And in addition to a negligible character story, we didn't even move forward on the plot very much: okay, Bell's gone for good (until they can get Nimoy again, and thus figure out a way to resurrect him once more), but that's about it. Hell, when Peter and Olivia were alone together at the end, she didn't even mention that the last thing she heard before getting taken over by Bell was Peter confessing that he'd killed the shapeshifters. Has she forgotten? 'Cause I'd think that would weigh on her mind, crazy LSD trip or not.

And the very end is her saying she thinks the mystery man is the man who's going to kill her, which makes no sense. I would ordinarily be okay with that, but following on the heels of this wretched episode, it just pisses me off.

Resolved: the only good things about this episode were Broyles on an acid trip and Astrid calling Walter "Wally" when he got her name wrong again. Okay, I also liked her downloading Zoom for him and offering to watch it with him, but that was it.
