Knut the polar bear has died. Nobody seems to know yet what caused it.

In happier news, tonight's full moon is the biggest in eighteen years. It should be best visible around sunset. (Er, sorry to the 50+% of my flist for whom sunset was hours ago...)

Oh no! o_O Jeez, that's bizarre. Poor little... okay, really big recently, but still. Poor thing. He had a rough life, for as short as it was.

And I am terribly excited about the full moon thing, because, wonder of wonders, Seattle actually decided to clear up today! It was grey and awful yesterday, and I felt sure we wouldn't be able to see anything.

Yeah, turns out 14% is not so much bigger as it sounds. :P The most impressive bit is always when it's right on the horizon, too, and we missed that by a good half hour thanks to a very wrong moonrise listing on the website I checked. D'oh.
