icepixieThis robot has totally slammed up against the uncanny valley for me. The legs look way, way too much like a dog's, even though the "knees" don't bend the same way. It also moves entirely too much like a dog. I'm officially creeped out now.
A Day in the Strife and Passing Through Gethsemane
Since these are, with a couple small exceptions, standalones, my thoughts on them haven't changed much since my first reaction post. But a couple other things:
"Those who would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither" kept running through my head during "Strife." My thoughts on that phrase, as always, remain mixed, though I think G'Kar did the right thing here if only because I wouldn't trust the Centauri not to continue doing exactly as they're doing once they had him in hand.
We continue to get similarities between G'Kar and Londo: G'Kar swallows his pride for Narn, while Londo sells his soul for the Republic.
My prediction about the eventual end to Franklin's stim addiction arc didn't quite come true, but it certainly does come to a head later. Sadly, the similarity I noticed between the probe and the Vorlon ships remained a coincidence. (Well, not really sadly--not sure where they would've gone with that, and it probably wouldn't have been interesting--but anyway.)
In a way, the speculation I made about forgiveness playing a large role in the series later did turn out true--after the war with Earth, our characters had to forgive and deal with, say, Lochley. Though they kind of gloss over this in S5, if I remember correctly. Still, on some level... Also: MAN, Theo totally schools Sheridan at the end. Ouch.
Aw, Delenn and Lennier look so happy to be able to talk religion with someone who cares. (I'm reminded of "Ceremonies of Light and Dark," where they go wandering around all "Anybody wanna come to our ceremony? Aaaaanybody?")
I maintain that Garibaldi should've asked Ivanova to dance when they were all in Earhart's. *waves doomed little OTP flag* But their conversation about personnel files was still cute. *squishes them*
